Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 6 lbs
Hello, I have a 2 year old toy poodle who had shots and was groomed by a new vet Wednesday. He is experiencing hot spots by his scrotum, bottom and ears. He isn’t wanting to run and play. He’s excited to see us but instead of running like crazy he come and sits by my feet. Is there a treatment I can do at home. He also is licking the areas a lot

Poor boy, this looks very sore! As long as he appears to be well in himself- drinking and eating normally-I think this is down to his sore skin rather than the vaccinations. It looks like he has developed quite bad clipper rash from being clipped short in these areas. You can try gently bathing the areas in warm salty water, then pat them dry and apply a topical wound cream with hydrocortisone and antibiotic in it. I would do this twice a day. You could also give an antihistamine tablet to help with the itch. This does look pretty bad so if the wee pet is in a lot of discomfort or it looks like the skin is getting worse take him in to the vet. He may need some painkillers and oral antibiotics. Best of luck!
