My dog has a small puss-filled wound. What could it be and vet needed?

My dog had what felt like a scab or tick. I pulled the fur back to look and there's a small white puss filled hole. I believe there was some scabbing over the whole that peeled back when i lifted the fur. What could cause this and should i habe him checked out? Pet's info: Dog | Australian Cattle Dog | Male | neutered | 4 years and 9 months old

With that amount of discharge and that size hike I would worry about a cyst that ruptured or a wound from trauma (bite) that was trying to heal and can't because it is infected. It does need to be seen for medication or surgery if needed but not as an enegenxy. You can clean it with soap and water and keep neosporin on it until you can you get seen this week
