My dog's nose has a big bump and small bleeding bumps. What's wrong?

I’m not sure what happened but she was fine and when I got back home her nose had a big bump on it and there’s other little bumps that look like hey have bled maybe.

Ouch, poor Dahlilah! It could be that she injured herself while you are gone, causing this big bump and other little bumps that look like they may have bled. It could also be an allergic reaction. I would try placing a cold compress on the large bump to see if that helps with the swelling, and keep an eye on her for now. If this swelling increases, other bumps appear, her muzzle start becoming swollen, and/or she has difficulty breathing, I would take her into an ER vet right away. If there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Otherwise, have her seen by a vet on Monday if the bump is still present but hasn't gotten bigger or smaller. I hope this helps!

If these lumps have suddenly appeared then it may be an allergic reaction to a sting or such. If so t should settle down within 48 hours. However it would be worth going to the vet to ensure she is okay and that it is nothing else such as infection or masses. Even if it is just allergic reaction they can usually give an injection to help it settle faster.

Bumps like this are usually a hypersensitivity response to an allergen. Also it could be bug bites that are having a localized reaction. I would recommend monitoring these areas to see if they continue to grow in size or cause pain/irritation. If they do start causing irritation for Snow, then you can place a cold compress on the area for 5 mins tonight and then get Snow seen by your vet tomorrow for further care, if it is still bothersome for Snow. I hope that your pet Snow is able to get this resolved soon. : ) Best wishes and take care.

Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach! From the pictures you have provided, I would suspect this to be a skin tumor. It looks to be benign and similar to what we call a sebaceous adenoma. It may have been much smaller previously and if it was bumped or traumatized may have grown in size due to inflammation. If this is bleeding and does not go down in size, I would suggest having it removed. Many of these can be frozen off with cryo treatment that many vet clinics provide as a service. My dog has a rash on the side of his nose that looks to be from irritation from trying to push his face through his crate and get through. If this were the only symptom it would be an easy fix but he also has a single bump on his nose about the size
It is hard to tell from the photo the characteristics of this bump. I would say it is possible it is related to trauma and I would monitor for now but it could also be a tumor (either benign or malignant). My recommendation would be to monitor it for the next 24 to 48 hours, and if it is still there in the same size or it is bigger I would have a veterinarian examin the area. Further testing might need to be considered such as taking a sample of the mass and sending it out for interpretation at the laboratory. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Two lumps have appeared by dogs nose over night. What could this be?
Hello, thank you for your question about Bailey. Based oh the photo that you have provided I suspect that those bumps are hives and signs that Bailey is having an allergic reaction. If the reaction is mild and these are the only signs that you are seeing you could try giving her Benadryl at home to control the reaction. If she is showing any other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, or progressive facial swelling I would recommend having her evaluated by a veterinarian. Hope this helps, good luck!

Is this bump on my dog’s nose a concern?
It looks like this lump could simply be a benign tumor, but that's impossible to say without seeing the dog in person. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. I'd give your dog's vet a call to set up an appointment for sometime this week. I hope this helps!

My dog was having this near her nose for a quite long time but today I saw that it has slightly got enlarged n another similar is protruding out from same point.what is it?is it serious?
A lesion like that could be several things including an ingrown hair, allergies, skin mites, bacterial infection or a skin tumor/mass. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing her diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesion once a day (not her whole body, just the lesion). Also protect the area from trauma by having your pup wear an elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesion does not start improving within a week or if it is getting worse, have her examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

If it went down in size earlier, then that would be a good sign that this is a certain type of cyst or benign (non-cancerous) tumor. However, many tumors can look similar to this one and some of them are not benign. Since it is small, and you've seen it go down before, it would be worth waiting a couple of weeks to see if it shrinks again. If it does not go down, gets bigger or continues to be irritated when she plays, then best to bring her in to the vet. This type of lump can be easily removed and they can determine exactly what it is at the vet clinic or a laboratory.

My pitbull/lab’s nose is swollen suddenly & I am not sure why. Any advice on what it could be from?
Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. It looks like Gunther either got a bump on the nose and that is a bit of a bruise, or more likely was either bitten or stung by an insect. I would recommend monitoring it closely. If you notice the muzzle/around the eyes/jaw/lips/ears starting to swell, or if you notice hives on Gunther, then I would get him to a vet right away for a couple injections to stop the allergic reaction. Otherwise, I would just monitor the bump. If it grows at all, or has any discharge, or doesn't go away in 2 days, then I would have it looked at by a vet. Best of luck with Gunther.

My dog randomly developed a hard bump right on her snout. It was not there a few hours ago. She doesn't seem to be in pain, and she is not scratching at it or anything. She recently had fleas if that matters. She just turned 1 year old a few days ago
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! A lot of skin bumps and lumps can look the same. She could have hit her nose on something and the bump is related to trauma and will go away, it could be a benign growth (like a histiocytoma), it could be part of a skin infection or immune reaction, hives or a cancerous growth. If the bump doesn't resolve in a few days I recommend having your Vet look at it. The sores around her mouth can also be due to infection or an immune condition and may or may not be related to the new bump on her nose. I hope this helps and I wish Luna a speedy recovery!
