Why is my dog snoring so much? Is it allergies or something serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 1 year and 11 months old | 8 lbs

Jackie's been snoring a lot here lately even during light sleep.. I've had seasonal allergies flairing up... That being said I'm wondering is this normal, is it dangerous, and what meds are used to treat it

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If Jackie doesn't have loud nasal noises or discharge when awake I think her snoring while sleeping is normal. It could be allergies or she could be overweight (obesity in dogs can cause snoring and/or breathing problems). If there are no symptoms while she is awake I don't think any treatment is needed.
