I would recommend that Rocko be evaluated by a veterinarian. If he is so constipated that he is now vomiting, then he will likely need veterinary care to remove the firm feces from his colon safely. However, there could be other causes for the vomiting and constipation-like symptoms, such as dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. Several of these can be very serious. If he has a GI blockage caused by eating something that go stuck, then he may need surgery to get well again.

Sorry to hear Nina isn't feeling very well! If she was just recently vomiting, and now seems to be constipated/ straining to poop, it may actually be that she is about to have some diarrhea . Sometimes when they have gastroenteritis (inflammation of the stomach and intestine) they will have a spastic colon that makes them feel like they need to poop when there actually isn't much there yet. If her attitude is good and she is eating, I would recommend that you feed her boiled chicken and white rice for the next 2 days or so. You can add a couple of teaspoons of canned pumpkin as well to help her colon. If she is not improving in the next few days, or if she seems to be getting worse at any point, please take her to your vet. Thanks for asking Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
