My dog won't eat rice on bland diet. Are pasta or noodles safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 9 years and 10 months old | 3.6 lbs

Bella needs to be on a bland diet. Have been feeding chicken and white rice which has been ok for a day but now she won't touch the rice, only the chicken. Is there a bland diet friendly substitute for rice? My vet said pasta or egg noodles, is that safe?

Yes, pasta and egg noodles are fine. So are scrambled eggs. Do not put any butter or spices on them. None of these items though are good for long term use. If she needs to be on a long term bland diet I suggest you get a prescription diet from your vet. That will be a balanced diet as far as vitamins/minerals, etc.
