My dog has suddenly lost his appetite, has a firm abdomen and whines when I touch that area. He's also acting more lazy and I'm scared of what may be going on. His appetite was fine yesterday but this is sudden. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 6 months old | 15 lbs

It may be a simple stomach upset, or more serious condition called pancreatitis. A painful back can also reflect as a painful abdomen as a dog draws up the abdomen trying to protect the back.
