My pug has a penis infection with pus, and Augmentin isn't helping.

Question

I’ve a male pug who is a year old n he mated an infected female pug n now has penis infection. He is having food like normal n his active n is not in pain but u can see pus in his penis. I’ve been giving him augmentin 375mg half tablet twice a day n it’s been 3 days What should I do? Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 21 days old | 24 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor James Bond! If the Augmentin hasn't helped and it has been 3 days you need to take James to a Veterinarian to have the penis evaluated and possible the discharge cultured to see what antibiotic is effective. Augmentin may not be the right antibiotic for this particular infection. I hope this helps and I wish James Bond a speedy recovery!
