My dog drank iced coffee. Should I worry? What should I do now?

My one year old baby, Sophie, drank some international vanilla iced coffee. Should I be worried? What should I do? Not sure how much was left in the cup. She might have just licked some or she might have drank it. Please help! Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 11 lbs

I am sorry to hear about your concern for Sophie. I would recommend watching her closely tonight for signs of toxicity from the coffee. Hopefully she just ingested a small amount and will have no ill effects, but you want to watch for vomiting, diarrhea, hyperactivity/excitability, racing heart, tremors/muscle twitching, and seizures. If any of these occur, then take Sophie in to the vet (vomiting and diarrhea if just occurring a few times may not require emergency care, but repeated vomiting or the other symptoms listed would warrant an emergency trip visit).
