My new kitten has mucus discharge from one eye. Is it an emergency?

I recently found a kitten. It is malnourished and has a mucus discharge coming from its one eye. I’ve give it a bath in hopes of it’s eye being relieved but there has been no changes. It eats and drinks well and is very friendsly. Any idea what’s wrong with Squeak? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 8 lbs
