My dog is an 8 year old yorkiepoo. I noticed on her short tail that she has developed some kind of yellow thick flackness she doesn't she's or mess with it. She also licks on the top of her feet and sometimes I notice flacks patches there also. She is on prescription food for food allergies. What could this be?

Poor Trixi! Probably this is a secondary bacterial or yeast infection that is directly related to the allergies she has. Even though she is on a food allergy diet, she may still have periods of uncontrolled itchiness and skin rashes/infections. She probably needs to be on an antibiotic right now for skin infection, as well as an allergy medication like Apoquel, during the times she chews on her feet and has these scaling patches of skin. If the food allergy diet seems to make a difference, then for sure keep her on that as well. Hope that helps!
