Why is my dog struggling to walk, but improved after mating?

My dog has barely been able to walk for a couple days now he just had intercourse a few times with my female dog and is kinda feeling better. Is it possible that he just is backed up and has blue balls.? I know the picture is graphic but I'm worried.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This is an unusual question, but certainly not the oddest I have every heard. No, he was not backed up, but his sluggishness may have been due to an underlying illness, injury or arthritis. But as my husband would attest to, a pretty girl can always get you out of a slump. So I think the act of breeding the female just took his mind off of things, & hopefully keep him cheery for awhile. Take care.
