My dog got bit by something. Is it a spider bite? Should I be worried?

It does need medical attention and it very well may be a spider bite or an abscess. You can try to flush the wound and clean it with water and mild soap and apply neosporin to keep it from getting worse until you can get it seen by a vet for stronger medicine

    Ouch! This could be a spider bite or something could have gotten in her paw. Make sure she can't lick it. Put a cone collar on her if needed. Also I would have your vet look at it so they can prescribe her antibiotics and pain meds. If it is a spider it's, you want to treat it before it get too bad as they can get really infected and be difficult to heal. I hope this helps!

    You can try keeping the wound clean with a salt solution or regular saline. You can try Benadryl if you call your regular vet-they should give you a dosage based on your dog's weight. Other than that you'd have to take him in to be seen for further care. Hope this helps!

    This looks like a nasty infection, you can try putting antibiotic ointment on it 3 times a day, make sure the wound is cleaned before you do that. if it doesn't get any better within a few days take her to the vet in order to get oral antibiotics.

Ouch. The area does look quite swollen and possibly already infected. Depending on the spider that bit Rocco, he may need antibiotics, steroids and antihistamines to prevent the skin from being necrotic (dying off) and systemic bacteria (bacteria floating in the bloodstream which can be life threatening) from developing. i would suggest cleaning it with Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water for tonight if a vet visit is just absolutely not possible. This will help provide some topical antiseptic cleansing of the wound. Take special care not to get any of this in his eyes. Then getting Rocco seen by a vet first thing in the morning to get this area looked at and treated appropriately. However if a vet visit tonight is possible, then getting him seen right away is best, before it gets any worse. I hope everything works out well for your pet Rocco. Best wishes and take care.

I’m not sure if my dog was bitten by a spider or if it is something else.
If it is a bug bite, the swelling should go down after a few hours. If it does not, I would be more worried about a skin tumor or an infection. Keep Scruffy from licking the area by having him wear an elizabethan collar at all times. Have him examined by the veterinarian if the swelling persists. You can spray the antibiotic spray on it in the meantime but as it is getting worse he will need to have oral antibiotic prescribe ASAP, the area should also be shaved to make it cleaner and less prone to get reinfected.

My dog was bite by something possibly a spider and we dont have alot of money so is there anything i can do other then taking him to a vet i have pictures of wound
This does look like an infection and ideally you should take your dog to a veterinarian for an exam and medication against pain and infection. You can try to bathe the foot in very warm epsom salt solution for 10 minutes three times daily which may help the infection or the abscess to ripen, open up and evacuate any untoward infectious material. If the paw does not improve within two to three days or if the paw gets worse you will need to take Chance to your vet.

What kind of home treatment for a tarantula spider bite on a dog?
It really depends on the location, severity and the clinical signs associated with the bite. If the bite is on his body and he is otherwise acting normal, you could clean the area with an antiseptic wound cleaner and apply an OTC topical antibiotic. He might need an oral antibiotic to prevent infection, an anti-inflammatory, and/or some pain medications and your vet could prescribe. Some dogs get bit in the mouth and it can cause drooling, vomiting, diarrhea and may require treatment to help stop the vomiting and diarrhea. If you have any concerns about the bite then he should be examined by your vet to determine the best way to treat.

I'm glad Charlie is eating and otherwise fine. I recommend using a hot compress on the draining area and the smaller bite, and it's ok to use over his eye also to remove the discharge. That will keep it clean and draining and will bring in the blood supply to help the area heal faster. Continue the antibiotics as directed and you can apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on the open area, not too close to the eye though. That will protect it from dirt and further infection. Spider bites can take a long time to heal. Having clear to slightly bloody drainage is normal and nothing to be overly concerned about. Should the wounds look worse or if Charlie stops eating then I would certainly run him in for a recheck exam. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Charlie.

The brown recluse spider can produce extremely serious clinical signs shortly after envenomation. These usually include vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding disorders, organ failure, and death. Without life saving measures, typically dogs do not survive. Since this occurred two weeks ago, it is highly improbably that this was the cause of Buddy's recent skin issues. From the picture above, it actually looks like a skin tag but your description is very different. As long as it is not oozing or being a bother (and appears to be healing slowly), Buddy may be on the up and up. The veterinarian can certain perform diagnostic testing of the lesion in order to identify the cause and type of problem if this is something you are interested in pursuing. However, I am not sure that this is really necessary at this time. If the areas starts to become infected, stops getting better, or becomes later, I would definitely recommend a visit to the vet some time soon.

What you describe sounds like an abscess from a small wound. Your pet needs to be seen by a vet for an exam, wound care and drain placement if needed, as well as getting medication to help clear the infection.
