a growth such as this one needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Capone to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign or malignant growth. There is no way of knowing what it is just based on its appearance. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!

It could just be a benign growth, but I really cannot diagnose from a picture. I'd need a sample to examine the cells under a microscope. You can ask your vet to send off a biopsy of it to a lab to get an exact diagnosis.

This looks like it could be an adenoma, which is a benign skin growth. There are several other skin tumors that could look similar, and some might need to be removed. I'd recommend having your vet take a look in person and potentially take a sample using a needle to see what cells are present. I don't necessarily think you need to see your vet urgently if it has been present for a year and isn't bothering Cheese.
