Hello, and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It's difficult to know how concerned we should be without knowing what Mano was sedated with. Depending on the sedation used, it can be normal for it to take some cats closer to 12-24 hours to really be back to their normal selves. However, you should be seeing a slow, steady improvement in Mano's perkiness and responsiveness. If you are worried that it's taking too long for him to come around, I'd definitely recommend giving your vet a call (I'm assuming the groomer is associated with a vet if sedation was used) to describe what you're seeing and ask if it's concerning to them with respect to the sedation they used. After 5 hours I would not be worried if he was still a bit groggy and choose to sleep when undisturbed, but if you interact with him, he should be responsive. So, what you're seeing might be normal and appropriate, but it's definitely best to err on the side of caution and make sure you get input from someone who is familiar with the specific sedation used. I hope this helps!
