My dog has small bumps on her back & there also seems to a rash on her stomach when she lays in grass. I also used a baby shampoo on her because I didn't have regular dog shampoo. Could she have a allergic reaction to this? What should I do?

If the bumps developed after you bathed Ivy, she certainly could be having an allergic reaction to the shampoo, but if the rash was already there, she might be having an allergic reaction to something else or may even have a skin infection. There are a number of reasons for skin problems in dogs. This article does an excellent job of describing them. You could be dealing with allergies (of various types), external parasites (such as fleas or mites), or secondary infections (bacterial or yeast). https://www.petcoach.co/article/why-is-my-dog-so-itchy/ This is also an excellent article on skin problems in dogs and the possible causes and treatments. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2604 I would recommend having your veterinarian evaluate Ivy. There are some simple skin tests that can help determine if she has a skin infection that needs to be treated and you can discuss options if they think she is having an allergic reaction or has allergies. That might include something like an over the counter antihistamine, prescription medication or a medicated shampoo. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
