Just got a African Grey around 5 months old. There is no bird vet here in my city. What should I do to ensure he is fine and is not suffering from any chronic disease. I just want to be on safe side. To be honest, as long as he doesn't show any symptoms of disease there is no need to take him to the vet. the most important thing is to feed him bird pellets rather than a seed based diet, this will prevent many health problems in the future.
