Hi there. Assuming Sophie has had her full vaccination schedule and appropriate boosters then the likelihood of her becoming ill with parvovirus is very rare. Of course, some animals don’t respond as well to vaccines as others, but that is a rare occurrence. If for some reason she does get sick and you have proof of vaccination given by a veterinarian then most vaccine companies will pay for treatment. However, if the vaccines were not given by a veterinarian they will not cover treatment. I hope she stays nice and healthy! Thanks for using Pet Coach!

If your dog has been appropriately vaccinated by your veterinarian there should be very little chance that he will be affected by the parvovirus. If your dog does become ill most vaccine companies will cover the cost of treatment of records of appropriate vaccinations can be provided. Keep a close eye on Max over the next 5-7 days. If there is any signs of lethargy, inappetance (even if it is one meal) or vomiting or diarrhea, take him to be. He led by your veterinarian immediately. Prompt starting of treatment has a positive outcome on survival. Max should be fine and there should be nothing to worry about. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
