Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year old | 4 lbs
Hiya, I've just adopted a 1 year old female Bengal/tabby mix. She had recently had a litter of kittens and rehomed at 9 weeks. When I adopted her, her belly was still a little big but it has since gone down back to almost normal. Today she has been acting like she's in heat rolling around and super affectionate and meowing more than usual (her behaviour is actually kinda cute). I'm just wondering how long after giving birth can I get her spayed? She has had all her shots and dewormed.

Luci can be spayed anytime. The main concern with spaying a cat that has just had a litter of kittens is if the kittens are still nursing and have developed mammary tissue. This extra tissue can increase the risk of an infection at the incision site. If she is not nursing kittens, the mammary tissue decreases and is no longer an issue. I would go ahead and schedule her to get spayed asap!
