Why is my dog's anus raw and sore from scooting after antibiotics?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 80 lbs

My dog has been being treated with antibiotics for a month and a half. I started probiotics Saturday. He has had loose stool for quite sometime. So in trying to help him he is now scooting, looked anus and its raw and raise sores

I am sorry to hear about Cujo. He may benefit from a topical ointment such as Animax which contains antibiotics but also steroids to help with inflammation. You can talk to your vet about getting this type of medication and it also may be a good idea to have your vet examine this area to ensure it is just irritation from the diarrhea and not something else such as an anal sac abscess or fistula. Your pup may also need an e-collar temporarily if he is licking at the area.
