Is it okay to get my cat's first shots and neuter him same day?

Is it ok to get my 7 month old cat his first vaccines the same day he is getting neutered?

We do sometimes end up vaccinating pets the same day of surgery if necessary though it isn’t ideal. Most cases we will perform surgery first and then vaccinate the pet once they have recovered from anesthesia because we do not want to risk them having an adverse/allergic reaction to the vaccine (a rare occurrence) while under anesthesia. Ideally a vaccine would be given prior to surgery but not on the day of, but sometimes this isn’t possible.

    If she told you that and the vaccination was done on the same day as the procedure then you are correct, it makes no sense whatsoever. this is a common policy in vet clinics, as long as the cat is vaccinated some of them won't really go through the correct protocol of doing the vaccination at least a week before the procedure.
