My dog has white crusty/flakey scabs ,I don't see any fleas but she did have some this summer but I did change her food from iams to Rachel Ray small breed food so I'm not sure if this is the problem or her havin a potty spot in tall dry weeds

It could be any of things and more. You need to get Marilyn to the vet for an exam and some blood testing to start with and she may also need some skin testing. There is no way to just look at her skin and know what the underlying issue is. It is best to make sure she is healthy via your vet and the testing and if all is normal then it is likely diet related. If you wanted to try something at home you can put her on a fatty acid supplement and use an antiseborrhea shampoo. Don't forget to use MONTHLY flea prevention. Don't just apply for a month or two and stop, she will just get fleas again especially if you have never treated the home. If you do all that and nothing changes she definitely needs to see the vet.
