Dog's chronic diarrhea and swollen gut: when to see a specialist?

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 8 years and 5 months old | 39 lbs

my Staffie has had dirrhea now for over a month she has stopped being sick the vet says she has never seen an intestine so swollen there is hardly any gap in the middle she has given ranitidine, metronidazole, synulox, salazopyrin nothing is working 6 days in now

It is time to consider a consult with an internal medicine specialist. Advanced imaging such as endoscopy, MRI or CT would be recommended along with biopsies of the intestine. This may diagnose inflammatory or infectious conditions that can then be targeted for treatment.
