Why is my cat lethargic, not eating, with discharge and a fever?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 9 lbs

Good day! Doc, i just wanted to ask i have a cat..she is lethargic, does not want to eat, has a nasal and ocular discharge. And alswo i think she has fever for she is hot when i touched her..what are the possible causes doc? Thank you.

I'm sorry Shara isn't feeling well. We commonly see viral upper respiratory infections that can cause nasal and ocular discharge as well as fever in cats. I have included additional information below. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=613 It is important to make sure that Shara is not getting dehydrated. Sometimes that requires your vet to give her fluids. You will also want to make sure that she does't have any secondary infections that need to be treated. Once your vet has evaluated her and treated her appropriately, be sure to try really smelly canned food to get her to eat. A cat's sense of smell is important to get them to eat, so if they have nasal discharge, sometimes we have to feed them much smellier food than normal to get them to eat. Good luck!
