Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 6.6 lbs

Frankie almost got ran over by a car when I was reversing to come out from the house porch. (Yesterday). But I saw her in shock and running away without any visible physical injury. These past few weeks her belly has gotten bigger like she is pregnant but on mid 9/17 when i got her vaccinated the DVM said she is not pregnant & can proceed with vaccination., right after she got shock from the incident she became quiet, doesnt eat and has vaginal discharge. Is she Injured Or going into labour

I'm sorry Frankie isn't well! It is possible that she is pregnant, but I would also be concerned that this discharge you are seeing is from a pyometra. A pyometra is a life threatening infection of the uterus that requires immediate medical attention. Leaving it untreated is fatal. It's also serious she won't eat. When cats don't eat for a period of time, they develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. I would take Frankie back into a vet immediately. The vet can diagnose what is causing her discharge and why she isn't eating, and can treat her. Please know that if she does have a pyometra, spaying her is part of the recommended treatment. I hope this helps!
