My puppy chews my hand! What soft, soothing teething toys can I use?

my puppy is three months old and has lost two teeth and the ones that are growing in are bugging him and the only thing he likes to chew on is my hand, what can I give him, that's as soft as my hand, to chew on?

You can soak a washcloth in water and freeze it before giving it to Kane. That will be soothing for him to chew on it, but monitor him the entire time to make sure he doesn't swallow any parts of it! You can also get him teeth toys at a pet store, including ones that can be frozen. You could find out that's as soft as your hand, but freezing ones are great for teething puppies. They love the cold as it soothes their gums. I hope this helps!

Poor puppy! Soak a wash cloth in cold water and freeze it. Then give it to him, but make sure to watch him closely the whole time. There are also toys you can get from the pet store that can be frozen and then given to him to help with teeth pain. Do NOT give him any human pain medications, many are toxic to puppies and can be fatal if given. Speak to his vet about prescribing him safe pain medications. I hope this helps!

Could you recommend a good brand of toys, treats or bones for puppies who are teething?
Get a Kong and stuff it with kibble or treats. Then smear peanut butter (make sure it does not contain any xylitol) over the hole completely. Put it in the freezer for a few hours. The coolness will feel good on M. J’s gums. In general King toys are a favorite for dogs. Rope toys can also massage the gum when he bites into them. If you go to the Pet Store or online you can find toys specifically for teething puppies. They can often be put in the refrigerator. As a sidenote, always check his toys for any pieces that he could tear off and swallow as this could cause an intestinal blockage. Throw away any of those toys and buy him new ones when this occurs. Just wondering What are the best toys for a puppy when they are in there teething phase?
Teething time in puppies can be difficult! While you can play with Chloe with plush toys, I would only do so supervised as she may be able to rip open a seam and eat the stuffing/squeaker. Rubber toys are great when teething, and filling the inside of a rubber toy with peanut butter (regular peanut butter, not one with artificial sugars that may be toxic) and putting it in the freezer can be a great option for the need to chew! If Chloe likes ice, you can also mix water and low sodium chicken broth together to make chicken flavored ice cubes for her to chew on.

My dog is a 5 month old chihuahua and is going through his teething stage and has lost a few teeth already. I was wondering if it fine if I let him chew on a raw hide and take it away when it starts getting moist or could, or could he break his baby
I wouldn't use a raw hide for him to chew on. I personally dislike them because of the big risk of choking and obstruction. There are toys you can get from the pet store that you can freeze and then give to him to chew on. The cold would be very soothing to his gums. Until you can get to the pet store, soak a wash cloth in water and put it in the freezer to freeze. You can give that to him to chew on, but monitor him the entire time to make sure he doesn't rip or swallow any piece of the wash cloth. I hope this helps!

My puppy's teeth are growing in, I've noticed that he doesn't chew his kibble and swallows them whole. Is that okay or should I get him soft food?
Teething can be painful for puppies, so I would try softening his dry food with warm water, or you can add gently warmed low sodium beef or chicken broth to the dry food to make it softer for him to eat. There are also chew toys you can get for Kiba from the pet store that can be frozen in the freezer, which will help soothe his mouth.

Hi! Is it okay to cut the teeth of a 2 month old puppy? Because he bites a lot and I'm afraid he could accidentally bite our hands while playing.
No, please do not cut your puppy's teeth - this would be very painful for him, and could also cause infection and other serious problems. Biting and mouthing during play is very normal behavior for puppies, and will resolve on its own with age. In the meantime, make sure that Pocholo has a variety of different toys to provide an appropriate outlet for this behavior - long floppy rope or fleece toys for tugging, plush toys for biting and carrying, and smaller toys for chasing and fetching. It can also be helpful to provide lots of different items to chew on - things like bully sticks, cow or pig ears, rawhide chews, and puzzle toys such as a Kong stuffed with peanut butter. If you are playing with him and he bites you, just redirect him to one of his toys and use that to play with him instead. If he bites your hands when you pet him, calmly stop petting and ignore him until he calms down. You may only be able to pet him when he is sleepy right now, which is fine - just be patient

Kong toys are my favorite. You can pack them with treats, freeze chicken broth inside of them, and they are almost indestructible. Also switching toys often so they don’t “get bored” with what is available to them.

Yes, you can give Jack a Kong toy. Those are safe for puppies to chew on (they have puppy sized ones), and you can fill them with treats for him. There are also toys that you can get that you can freeze, and that helps with teething behaviors, as chewing often is related to teething in dogs. Do not put dental cream on anything, as the ingredients are not safe for puppies to ingest.

Puppies like to chew on things but usually outgrow this behavior with time. You cold fill a Kong with a mixture of dog kibble and a small amount of peanut butter and then freeze it. It should keep him occupied while he licks the food out of the Kong. You can also start working on the "leave it" command and use the command when he is chewing on something inappropriate.
