Cats are not naturally sociable and do not generally enjoy living in large packs; you should generally try to ensure there is no more than one cat per room should they wish to avoid each other as close confinement in each others company can cause stress and related medical issues such as urinary tract inflammation, overgrooming and fighting. Ensure to also have more litter trays, water and food bowls than you have cats and spread them out around the house to prevent territorial guarding of such access points.
