My unvaccinated cat is lethargic, unbalanced. Stroke or rabies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 3 months old

How do i differ between a stroke and rabies in a cat?Actually first of all i have four stray pet cats and they all are not vaccinated, cause i am broke and hardly afford to feed them, since yesterday one of the cats have started showing symptoms like lethargy and also keeps his head down while sitting and sleeping,he walks with his head pulled back towards his neck and shows difficulty in maintaining balance while doing anything,he doesn't drink or eat anything from today.

Poor Blackie - he sounds very uncomfortable. Please take him to your nearest shelter or humane society to get him the help he needs - he may have a severe ear infection causing loss of balance. They may also be able to help with neutering and vaccinating the stray cats also
