Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | 13 years and 1 month old
Yesterday my dog was totally fine; but today she has been limping, shaking, holding her paw off of the ground, and not acting like herself. She also didn’t eat or drink as much today as she usually does. At first I thought it was arthritis, but now I’m skeptical that she may have stepped on something and it became lodged in her paw. I don’t see anything, but she pulls her paw away from me every time I check. Could something stuck in her foot be causing all of this?

Yes, it is very possible that there is something stuck in the foot even if you can't see anything, but it could still be arthritis, a foot injury or even a local inflammation of the paw. i would recommend taking her to your vet tomorrow morning in order to get it checked and treated.

Any dog that is limping is in pain; that is why she is limping, the foot hurts to put weight on it. You will need to take Brandy to a vet for an exam. The problem could be anything from a sticker in her foot to arthritis to a strain/sprain of ligament or tendon. It may not be the paw, it could be anywhere on her leg that is the issue.
