Help! My puppy licked a used menstrual pad. Is he in danger?

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | unneutered | 9 lbs

Okay pretty awkward but um.. I had my pad in the bin because im on my period at the moment and I walk into my room and my 8 and a half month old puppy was you know.. licking it etc and of course I got worried and went to wash his mouth right away. But i cant find anything on google on what to do Yes it is quite awkward thanks for any help

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear that Pupper was doing this and please don't feel awkward. It's all a part of life. The main thing is to prevent this from happening in the future since he may start consuming the used products. This is known as dietary indiscretion (eating things he's not supposed to) which can cause vomiting/diarrhea, nausea, etc and even a foreign body if enough is consumed and cannot be passed or vomited. Start keeping your trash in a place where he can't gain access. Good luck with Pupper.
