Can I give my cat Capstar and Bayer dewormer on the same day?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 11 lbs

Hello! I'm a groomer, and a client relinquished her flea and tapeworm infested cat to our shop. My question is are these two drugs compatible when given within 24hours of each other? Cat seems healthy otherwise, and is decent weight. Capstar for cats (nitenpyram) and Bayer cat dewormer (praziquantel). Thank you!

Hi and thank you for your post on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, Capstar and Praziquantel used together or within 24 hours of eachother as you asked is just fine. However, just make sure the cat is at least 4 weeks old for use of Capstar and at least 6 weeks old for use of Praziquantel. I hope this helps and thank you for posting! Best of luck to you!
