Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7.5 lbs
I have a 16 year old cat who has been congested for around 4 months. She has thick yellow discharge from her nose and breathes through her mouth now. Her eyes are now watery and today she has swelling on the bridge of her nose which is shutting one eye. We have taken her to the vets and she has had different antibiotics, steroid injections and decongestions but there has been no improvement. She is not eating properly at the moment and her bowel movenents are infrequent. Please can you advise?

I'm sorry to hear about Missy's chronic problems. The 2 most common problems leading to this would be either a very deep, resistant bacterial infection of the sinuses or even possibly a tumor. Tumors can be either malignant or benign. To get a definitive answer advanced imaging such as CT may be needed. It must be frustrating to have tried so many therapies and still be facing a problem. These types of chronic sinus issues can be very difficult to solve. You can request a referral to a specialist from your veterinarian and they will help guide you with a plan. Take care and I hope Missy improves soon.
