My dog was slip mating, no tie. Could she be pregnant without a lock?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed

My German shepherd bitch has been in season since the 12th of September. We started trying to mate her on the 23th and have continued until today which is the 28th. They were constantly slip mating but nothing else. We was at the breeders for over 24hours in total and no lock on happened? Today we took her back as she wasn’t allowing him to mount her at all and was growling and biting him constantly. Do you think she could be pregnant or no?

This is a very hard question to answer. It is possible she did get pregnant if they locked/made contact at all. Sperm can travel up the birth canal and dogs can get pregnant with out proper locking. I would wait until day 30 than have her ultrasound to look for heart beats. If you really want her pregnant I would recommend trying to test progesterone levels to help tell you exactly when she is ready. I hope that helps
