Why is my dog's fur turning white, itching, and losing hair?

Pet's info: Dog | Spitz | Male | 7 years and 7 months old | 20 lbs

Looks like my dog has some issues, recently have noticed his fur around eyes and mouth are turning white. And has a severe itching and hair fall in patches. Vet has prescribed some mebendazole medicines but not sure with the result please help. Attached pics of hair fall area.

Hello, sorry to hear about Blaky. Those medications are likely prescribed to treat ringworm, a fungal infection. However, if Blaky is itchy, he may have a secondary bacterial or yeast infection as well. Finally, he could be very itchy from a separate problem such as fleas or mites. If he continues to be itchy, then have Blaky re-evaluated. Most often ringworm will resolve with long term medication, up to months. Fleas, mites, and bacterial infections may respond much quicker.
