Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | neutered | 8 years and 8 months old | 72 lbs
I have a boxer with a skin tag/lump the size of a nipple. It is purple in color. He has had mct and surgery to remove at spca but not margins on pathology. The mct was in scrotum. This new spot is by penis on abdomin. Could this be cells that weren't removed from surgery? Should I check with vet? This has grown within 2 months.

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. From the picture, I would suspect this to be one of two things as first suspicion. A hemangioma (benign cutaneous mass) or a hemangiosarcoma (malignant mass). Most of the time, the hemangioma will turn into a hemangiosarcoma if not removed. I would have this looked at because the sooner you remove this the better. This could also be a different type of mass but this is my suspicion. Until further testing is performed, it is difficult to say 100% what this could be. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation if needed.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It looks like a burst / infected skin mass. Please, take your dog to your local vets for an appointment. Full clinical examination will help to decide what treatment is required. I suspect your dog will be prescribed a course of antibiotics or topical antiseptic treatment to start with. Your local vet may want to surgically remove the lump or take a biopsy once the infection / bleeding is under control.
