I have an Australian cattle dog / Pitt bull. I need to know if this is a tick or if this is just a skin tab... He wears flea and tick stuff always so if it is a tick i don't know where he got it. He's acting fine. When I tried 2 remove "tick" w tweezers last night he got very upset like it hurt? Please answer ASAP if you can... I'm very worried. Thanks Laura H

It is difficult to know for sure without seeing it. I don't see a picture included so if you tried to upload a picture then it didn't work properly. With a tick, you can usually see some legs so if you don't see any legs then it could be a skin tag, especially since he seemed to be in pain when you tried to remove it. The best thing would be to have your vet take a look at it to determine the exact cause and treat. Continue to use a flea/tick prevention, like Frontline, NexGard, Bravecto, etc.

Hi. Yes, this looks like a skin tag and appears benign. Off course I can't say that for sure by a picture, but it appears that way. These don't have to be removed. There wouldn't be any downfall to not removing it unless it gets caught on something or secondary infections over and over. Great photos.
