My newborn kitten's anus looks red and closed. Is it a birth defect?

One of my cats kittens was born with an anus, but it looks redish and kinda like a scab. As though it was healing. It kind of looks closed like nothing could come out. I just noticed so im not sure if thats the case. Is it possible for his anus to be closed?

Yes it is possible that animals are born without an anus or a stricter region. These are called birth defects and usually means there was a problem with development. I would recommend taking the kitten to a veterinarian for an exam to assess what is going on. Hope that helps
