What can I put on my dog's dry, cracked, and rough nose to help?

My friend has a dog his name is Floppy. He has a rough nose it is dry and cracked. Is there anything that can be put on his nose so it wont be so dry and rough. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 4 months old | 15 lbs

Anything you will put on a dog's nose he will lick right away, so it is usually pointless. cracked and dry nose appears mainly in dogs that tend to dig in the ground, the only solution is to prevent them from doing that.
