My dog's seborrhea returned. Is shampoo enough or should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 12 years and 5 months old | 13 lbs

After recovering from pancreatitis and Seborrhea a few months ago. Cooper, my 12 yr. old Maltese, now has another bout of Seborrhea, worse than before. My plan was to get the medicated shampoo & daily spray. Is that enough or should I bring him back to the vet? Does he need antibiotics?

You can start with the medicated shampoo, if within a couple weeks you do not see enough improvement- take him to the vet vet in order to get it checked and treated. some cases especially if caught early will not require antibiotic treatment.
