How to responsibly rehome my cats and ensure a smooth transition?

I have two cats that are 1 year old. I have had them all their life. I really don't want to give them away but I feel like it would be better for me and them how do I ensure they get a good home and how do I make the transition easy if I do decide to give them away? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old

I would advise contacting your vet office and see if they can help you place them. They often have a list of clients seeking pets. Other avenues would involve your local humane society, pet rescue groups, etc. These groups often screen potential adopters and would be a great resource.
