It sounds like your dog has a case of colitis, or an inflammation of the colon. The side effect of this inflammation is diarrhea. Colitis can be caused by many different things. Some of the more common causes include intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion, food intolerance, irritable bowel disease, pancreatitis, a foreign body/blockage and viruses. It is great news that Tripp is feeling well. I would recommend at least taking a fecal sample in to your vet to be checked. If Tripp has diarrhea for more than 48 hours I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam. He may need fluids to correct any dehydration, a fecal examination performed and antibiotics and/or probiotics to help the diarrhea clear up. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
