Hi, I think my puppy is seriously stressed out. She's eating, drinking, pottying fine. Recently our routine has changed because I'm back at school and my mom is back at work from the summer so she cries every morning when we're still home. She's NEVER home alone we made sure our hours are so she doesn't stress but she's still stressing. We were just playing and she went on a sniffing fit. Sniffing everywhere but she stopped. She bites at her fur but I do stop her. What can I do to help her?

Hello, sorry to hear about your puppy. What you're reporting sounds like Snowball may be having some allergies which could definitely cause the clinical signs your are describing. Allergies can also lead to anxiety and stress due to the itchiness and discomfort. Other possible causes of her stress could be associated with you not being around such as with separation anxiety. If Snowball continues to break at her self or act very anxious, I would have her evaluated by your veterinarian. Monitor her skin for any redness, areas or hair loss, swelling or pain and notify your veterinarian if you note any. Hope this helps and best of luck

I would certainly be suspicious that Snowball has allergies, as biting at the paws is a typical sign of allergies. It does sound like she is miserable if she is biting at her fur constantly, and I think the best thing to do is have her seen by a vet in the morning. If she does have allergies, the vet can diagnose this and can prescribe medication to give her relief. You can try giving her an oatmeal bath tonight to see if that helps give her temporary relief from her symptoms. I hope this helps!
