Is Solomon Seal safe for my cat on medication after surgery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 24 days old | 6 lbs

Hi, my kitty is currently on Baytril, Clavamox, Ultram, & Fortaflora probiotics while healing from surgery on 3 broken legs after an animal attack. I'd like to supplement w/Soloman Seal infusion for bone healing & tendon & tissue regeneration but want to be sure there are no interactions. For myself I infuse 2tsp of Soloman Seal root in 1 cup water & drink 2 cups/day. Was thinking half strength infusion for kitty & about 1/8 cup/day. Do you have an suggestions or concerns? Thank you!

I am so sorry to hear about Finx. To be honest we do not have any research or information on solomon seal root in cats. My big concern is that cats are very sensitive to supplements and medications. Many supplements can cause kidney disease in cats. With the recent trauma Finx went through I would not recommend adding any supplements. Since we are unsure of the long term or short term affects it is best to just wait until Finx heals before adding supplements. hope that helps
