My puppy hit a wall and sneezed blood. Should I take him to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Puppy ran into wall because he got startled when he was in a dark room, i assume he hit face first. He ran out of the room and started sneezing many times a little mix of blood and mucus. He seems ok now and is not longer sneezing or bleeding. Should I go to the vet, emergency vet, or just watch him and he should be fine?

I'm sorry Oliver hurt himself. He should be ok since he is acting normal. Monitor for a continued bleeding from the nose, dull mental state, vomiting, wobbly gait, tremors, or seizures. These would be signs of head trauma and Oliver should be seen right away.

Poor little Oliver! It sounds like he may have bumped his nose causing the bleeding. If the bleeding has stopped and he’s acting normal, you do not need to take him into the emergency vet. If his nose looks swollen in the morning, then a check up with your regular vet would be a good idea. Otherwise he should be fine. I hope this helps!
