My kitten has a growing neck bump. What if I can't afford a vet?

Hi I have a female cat I think she's about 5-6 months. When we first got her we noticed a slight bump on her neck and it's been around two weeks and it has grown bigger than a quarter it's oval shaped. She's not showing any other concerning signs she's still eating and playing she is not fixed yet we were planning on giving her away because we don't have the money to take proper care of her. I am really worried.

It may be an infection or some fluid build-up under the skin. If you are still considering giving her away, then it's probably best to give her to a good shelter. Places like the Humane Slociety have good facilities for cats and have veterinarians on staff. The vet will be able to quickly identify the cause of the lump and treat it before adopting her out. They will also make sure she gets fixed before adopting her. Young cats usually get adopted rather quickly, so it would actually be a good time to surrender her to a shelter. I hope that helps and all goes well for Muna.
