My dog has a red bump under his eye. Is it a skin tag or folliculitis?

Hello, I'm making an appointment tomorrow for my Boston terrier but I've noticed a small bump under his eye, it has been there for about a month but I noticed it got bigger in the past few days. It's red, the hair isn't growing there either now. Is it a skin tag, folliculitis?

Hi thanks for your question this morning. It is hard to say exactly what the mass could be without examining Gus and taking a sample of the mass first. This should be done at your local veterinarian's office to determine if it is something of concern or not and if it needs to be removed. Sometimes bumps under the eye can also be a sign of a dental infection coming from one of the maxillary pre-molars. It is good you are getting Gus examined by his veterinary tomorrow to make sure. Best of luck and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
