What breed is my dog Buddy, and are his teeth healthy or bad?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 45 lbs

My pictures won't attach from my phone for some reason so I've added them to his profile gallery! What breed would say Buddy is? Also i attached pictures of his teeth! Are they bad?

Oh Buddy certainly is a handsome boy! I would say he is a lab cross, he looks like he has Labrador Retriever in him. If you want to know his exact breed, you can do a Wisdom Panel. It's a DNA test that will tell you your dog's exact breed :-) www.wisdompanel.com As for his teeth, I can only see one canine and not the rest of the mouth so I can't speak for his entire mouth. I don't see any redness around the tooth or plaque build up on the tooth, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have plaque and redness around his other teeth, especially his premolars and molars. Best way to know for sure if his teeth are bad is to have them checked out by a vet. I hope this helps :-)

How lovely of you to take in Buddy! Unfortunately, none of your pictures attached to the post, so I can't see them :-( I will do my best, however, to answer your questions as best I can! I would talk to your vet to see if they feel a high calorie prescription food would help him gain weight. You could also feed him a high quality dog food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. A high quality dog food would help him gain weight in a healthy way. Also make sure he is up to date on his deworming treatments, as intestinal worms would prevent him from gaining weight. Without seeing a picture of him, I can't tell you his breed :-( If he doesn't have any teeth, there should be no pain but if he does have rotting teeth remaining, then yes these will be painful to him. Have him seen by a vet to check his mouth. The vet can determine if any remaining teeth need to be removed to make him more comfortable. There's no way to give him more teeth, but a vet can

Hi there. Baby Rogie is really handsome! Unfortunately there is no way to know what breed he is just by looking at him. The only way to know for sure is to have a DNA test done. They are easy to do and inexpensive. I recommend Wisdom Panel. So my dog has stinky breath. We noticed he had hair collected in between his front top teeth and decided to clean it out for him. When we started to pull the hair out we were presented with this mess. How serious is this?
Poor Buster! It looks like he may have periodontal disease or potentially an injury that has led to recession of his gums and allowed hair to accumulate in the pocket. I would guess those two middle teeth need to be extracted. I am a little concerned about the hair above his canine tooth as well - it looks like he might have a draining tract associated with that tooth. I would recommend having your vet examine Buster soon to see if a dental cleaning with tooth extraction is recommended. Fortunately dogs do not use these teeth much for chewing.

Hi there. It definitely looks like Hunter has some tartar accumulation and signs of early periodontal disease on his back teeth (premolars and molars), so I would recommend scheduling a dental cleaning with your veterinarian when you're able to :)

You can start brushing his teeth with a dog safe toothpaste and brush, and adding doggy mouthwash to his water. Make sure it's a dog approved one, which you can get from the pet store. You can also get the toothpaste and brush from the pet store. Buddy Bear's teeth should be brushed daily. He may need to see a vet at some point to make sure his teeth are ok, and I will give you some resources that may help you afford a vet. You can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Jack is super cute! You can probably ask 10 vets and you'll get 10 different answers. He isn't a pure bred dog and there are likely many breeds that contributed to how Jack looks. He likely has Chow (though his tongue isn't pigmented) or Samoyed to get that type of tail. The rest is likely a retriever or shepherd mix. For fun you can do DNA test, they aren't very accurate but it might be entertaining at least. Hi and thank you for your question on Boop by Petco! From the pictures (cute by the way), I would say Eli may be a Bichon Frise or Bichon Frise mix. You can find out exactly what Eli is through genetic testing. It is a little expensive but is interesting and that way you can know for sure. My dog has a half-grey canine... Is it bad ? What should I do with it? My dog is a husky-white shepherd mix, 4 years old. I dont brush his teeth but he regularly has bones and kongs to chew on.
Thank you for providing a picture of Shad's teeth! It looks like he has some tartar build up on that canine tooth, and I see his gums along his teeth are red. This is a sign of gingivitis. It looks like it's time for a dental cleaning, scaling, and polishing. I would give his vet a call on Monday to set up an appointment to have this done within the next week or two. Thank you for providing such good pictures. It looks like Lars has broken part of his tooth and what you are seeing is the pulp cavity. The pulp cavity is the center of the tooth where the nerves and blood supply run. The problem with having the pulp cavity exposed is that the area will be painful, and bacteria can now get into the tooth. In order to prevent infection, either the tooth needs to be extracted or a root canal needs to be performed. If your vet doesn't perform these procedures, they can refer you to a veterinary dentist who does. But have your vet evaluate Lars and give you their recommendation. I would also recommend discussing Lars' chewing habits, so you can try to figure out what caused this, so he doesn't break any other teeth. Good luck! I hope that was helpful.
