We have an 11-year-old male Cairn Pomeranian mix. He has several soft, movable lumps that we and the vet keep track of. Recently we discovered a hard, stationary lump on the inside of his thigh that is slightly larger than a ping pong ball. It doesn't seem to hurt him nor does it cause him to limp. But it's so large and seemed to appear so suddenly and is completely different from his other lumps. Do you think it is serious?

Hi and tanks for your question this afternoon. It is hard to say exactly what the mass could be without examining him and taking a sample of the mass first. This should be done at your local veterinarian's office to determine if it is something of concern or not and if it needs to be removed. It is good that it does not seem to bother him, but I would still have a sample taken just to be sure. I hope this helps and I wish you the best!
