My old dog has uterine discharge and isn't eating. Can she be saved?

My dog is 15 years old Pekingese she's not eating but drinking a lot of water she's having discharged from her uterus, I'm sad because I put her down. My question to you is could I have done anything to save her. Pet's info: Dog | Pekingese | Female | unspayed | 15 years old | 18 lbs

You still can save her, she needs an urgent surgery to have her uterus removed as she most probably is suffering from a severe uterine infection, the surgery will solve the problem completely and she will continue to live a normal life after it.
