My cat has a lump on her leg. Is it serious? When should I see a vet?

I find a lump under mine cat leg can u till what it could be and should i take her to the vets and could it be some think to worry about as she is 6 year old thankyou

Please keep in mind that without seeing Gizmo in person, there is no way I can tell you what the lump is for sure. It could be a cyst, an abscess, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would have Gizmo seen by a vet in the next couple of days to have the lump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated as needed. I hope this helps!

Same for the lump on his front leg. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. Yes, it is best to be safer rather than sorry and have the lump checked over as soon as possible. It could be a cancerous lump that requires urgent treatment. Your vet can start sampling it with a needle and putting the content on a slide and take it from there.

I was playing with my two year old cat and noticed a small bump/lump on his right leg. It feels solid and it isn't painful when we touch it.
Please take Sabbath in to have the lump examined. The most common lumps in cats are from infections but those generally are hot and painful. Cats do get masses that can be cancerous so having it examined is best. They can get some cells through a small needle and have it looked at to determine if it needs to be removed. The lump may be benign or an infection which would be nothing to be concerned about but I recommend finding out for sure what it is. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Sabbath.

What could the lump on the shoulder of my cat be? It's hard and doesn't move around. Vet said it wasn't and abscess. Cat still acts fine.
Most lumps that occur on a pets skin can be either one of 3 things, especially in cats. 1) Abscess- it seems your vet has ruled this out, 2) Benign tumor- typically fatty lipomas and some other tumors we don't tend to worry about 3) Malignant tumor- these are often invasive and can also spread, depending on type, to other parts of the body. Now the one and only way to differentiate #2 from #3 is to have either: a) Fine-needle aspirate (least invasive procedure where a needle is introduced into the mass, cells are drawn off and then send off to a lab for analysis, this procedure does have a chance that the cells taken are not enough and results can be inconclusive in some situations) b) Excisional biospy- this is where the whole mass is removed surgically and typically either under sedation or general anesthesia. Because the entire mass is removed the results are almost always conclusive and you get your answer as to what type of mass it is , if it was removed in its entirety in tha

What is this? I found this behind my cats leg im worried
Without further testing, there is no way to tell if this growth is due to infection, trauma or allergy, or if it is a mass. Masses can be of a malignant (cancerous) type that can spread elsewhere and/ or invade the healthy tissue around them, or a more benign (noncancerous) type that is unlikely to spread. I recommend making an appointment for Onxy to see your vet to have the growth tested. In many cases this can be done using a fine needle aspirate, where cells are removed from the growth using a needle and examined under a microscope to determine what it is and to guide treatment. In some cases further testing may be needed to determine the necessary course of treatment, but it is important to get new growths tested in a timely manner, to allow for treatment if necessary.
